The Austin Chinese Educational Services (ACES) was founded in
2002 under the notion that there is a better model for cultural
education. Traditional Chinese schools have taken our children a
long ways through once a week classes, but we want our children
to more fully appreciate their heritage and our communities to
more fully understand its multicultural individuals.
History :
ACES began 2003 with the Afternoon Chinese School Program,
which meets four times a week in area elementary schools. In
2005, we continued our innovation through the Summer Scholars
Immersion Program, which is the only U.S. based program to put
elementary and secondary students directly into a non-island
program. Unlike students in other youth abroad programs, our
students studied, ate, and slept with their local, Chinese
friends. This year, ACES is proud to announce the Summer Chess
Immersion Program, which will match talented American, youth
chess players with Chinese National Team coaches in Beijing.
Community. Identity. Excellence.
In the future, ACES will continue to expand its programs to
give our students and communities more and more ways to
understand themselves and each other. Please check back
periodically to see what's new!
